About

What is Team United?

Team United is a coalition of staff representatives from Athletes in Action (AIA), Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), and Georgia Athletes Outreach (GAO).  These campus ministries have formed a partnership called “Team United” to minister and serve the athletic community at the University of Georgia.  Team United focuses our ministry with athletes and coaches at UGA, although we welcome anyone who wishes to attend our monthly meetings, Bible studies, and other activities.

Team United is a para-church ministry.  We believe that the the local church is God’s plan in which all Christians should actively participate and be involved.  We encourage all of our students to attend a local church regularly.  Here is list of local churches in the Athens area.

What is our mission?

Team United exists to ignite a movement of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the athletic community of UGA, by winning, building, and sending athletes, coaches, and all whom they influence.

What do we value?

Ministry of Presence – attending practices and competition; providing pregame chapels & helping to serve the players, coaches, and support staff; monthly meetings for worship and teaching from a Biblical perspective.

Ministry of Reconciliation – preaching the Gospel to the athletes, coaches, and athletic community; helping athletes to go into the community to serve and share their testimony; equipping athletes and coaches to be ambassadors for Christ.

Ministry of Discipleship – teaching God’s Word to athletes and coaches through Bible studies and one on one meetings; weekly leadership meetings to equip athletes for ministry to their teams and communities; training athletes and coaches to use their platform for God’s glory.
